Ro remained on Enterprise-D as flight controller. On stardate 45156.1, the Enterprise collided with a quantum filament, suffering major systems damage. Ro, with Chief Miles O’Brien, assisted engineering personnel to avert an explosion despite a major power failure. On stardate 45494, Ro, with other Enterprise personnel, suffered brief memory loss after exposure to a Satarran alien energy weapon. Assisted Commander William Riker in assisting ship’s personnel and analyzing systems to return to normal function. On stardate 45571, several crew members became possessed by alien intelligences and took hostages in Ten Forward. Ro and Chief Engineer Geordi LaForge attempted to stun the captors with a plasma shock from within a Jeffries tube above the lounge, but were unsuccessful. In 2369, Ro and LaForge were believed killed in apparent transporter malfunction. Both later found alive, suspended in an area of interspace created by an experimental Romulan cloaking device. On stardate 46235.7, after another transporter malfunction, Ro and other Starfleet personnel temporarily reverted to children, yet participated in thwarting attempted Ferengi hijacking of the ship. Admiral Alynna Nechayev assigned Ro to infiltrate a Maquis cell near Demilitarized Zone. Ro successfully integrated with the group, but ended up sabotaging the Starfleet interception of Maquis ship.
